About Manu
Manu developed a passion for the art and craft of designing women’s fashion-wear at a very young age. She was so smitten by the magic that a needle and thread can weave that her mother used to buy her sewing and designing material while she bought toys for her siblingManu received her first sewing kit, as a gift from her mother, at the tender age of 12 years. A young and empowered Manu, wasted no time at all, and started designing all her dresses herself from that moment onwards. Later on, after she got married, Manu was blessed with a baby girl.
Looking at the gorgeous dresses her daughter used to wear, her relatives and friends requested her to turn her gift into an enterprise so that more people could benefit from it and more young girls could have access to such beautiful dresses. Her love for this craft, coupled with a very supportive husband, laid the foundation of her designer - entrepreneur career back in 1984 in a small town in India.
Manu Gujral was the first person to launch a ready-made garments boutique for young girls and women in her home town of Ambala, India. In the year 1993, Manu immigrated to The United States with her family. Just like true love, which is boundless and seamless, the change of a continent and country made no difference to Manu’s passion for designing and sewing. She worked as the Alterations’ Manager for David’s Bridal for about 2 years and immediately after that she started her own boutique.
